Position: Business Development Representative in Logistics and Transportation

Work Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) with approximately 25% domestic travel required.

Job Overview

We are in search of an enthusiastic and results-driven Business Development Representative specializing in Logistics and Transportation. This pivotal role involves not only driving business growth but also expanding our client portfolio throughout the U.S. You will engage with both prospective and existing clients to identify new business opportunities, all while making a meaningful impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive sales pipeline by identifying and pursuing new business prospects.
  • Achieve and surpass designated sales targets and revenue objectives.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients.
  • Oversee the entire sales process from initial outreach to successful deal closure.
  • Engage in negotiations for contracts and pricing agreements that align client needs with company objectives.
  • Prepare customized proposals and quotes based on specific client requirements.
  • Formulate and execute business development strategies, utilizing diverse outreach methods including cold calling, email campaigns, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with operational and customer service teams to ensure outstanding service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients to enhance business partnerships.
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Provide regular updates on the sales pipeline and business development activities to management.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM systems and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management services, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, complemented by strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Analytical thinker with a focus on creative, solution-driven approaches to client challenges.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking capabilities, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time, with a valid driver's license for local travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable sales experience in transportation, 3PL logistics, or brokerage, with a proven record of revenue generation and business development success.
  • Experience in delivering professional presentations to varied audiences.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
