Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Sales and Business Development Manager to join our esteemed team. With a legacy spanning over 75 years, our family-owned company leads the craft and floral industries by delivering innovative, high-quality products that empower creators. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the SVP of Sales, will focus on expanding our reach with established accounts while driving substantial revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement strategic visions and tactical plans to achieve both annual and long-term financial objectives.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of assigned clients and our diverse product offerings.
  • Collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams to develop creative solutions that boost sales and enhance customer experiences.
  • Act as the primary expert for assigned accounts, steering the organization toward success.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust customer relationships through trust, credibility, and consultative selling methods.
  • Analyze key performance metrics, consumer insights, and market trends to devise data-driven sales strategies beneficial to both the company and its clients.
  • Conduct impactful customer meetings, both virtual and in-person, delivering engaging presentations that address trends, opportunities, and actionable strategies.
  • Serve as the main liaison for assigned accounts, consistently ensuring that deadlines are met and customer expectations are surpassed.
  • Oversee the development and management of sales budgets, forecasts, and expense approvals.
  • Contribute to the formulation of annual and long-term marketing strategies.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, adept in engaging both customers and internal teams.
  • A strategic thinker with outstanding time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A customer-centric approach complemented by strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven experience in leadership and team supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with advanced skills in these programs.
  • A strong passion for analyzing customer behavior and market dynamics.
  • Capability to interpret data, make informed decisions, and display initiative.
  • Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and a proactive mindset towards challenges.
  • Excellent planning, project management, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of account sales experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector, with a focus on national craft retail accounts or floral wholesale being advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
