Job Overview

We are actively seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to join our innovative team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in spearheading the identification of novel business opportunities while cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with our existing client base. As the primary liaison for both prospective and assigned clients, your commitment to exceptional service will be essential in advocating for client needs and delivering exceptional quality. Establishing enduring relationships with key stakeholders is fundamental to your success in driving repeat and new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and evaluate new clients and markets to propel strategic revenue growth.
  • Establish and nurture strong client relationships to ensure ongoing business and alignment with the company's objectives.
  • Serve as the principal contact between clients and the organization, overseeing the complete sales cycle—from initial prospecting to closing sales. Ensure client satisfaction and retention through effective support post-sale.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to address client needs and provide superior service.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets for both new and existing clients. Attend client meetings and industry networking events, which may necessitate travel.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales prospecting and development reports, maintaining accurate sales forecasts.
  • Develop pricing quotes and credit terms, and prepare sales contracts as required.
  • Create a list of potential new clients using various resources and techniques.
  • Mentor and support team members, encouraging a collaborative team-selling approach when applicable.
  • Participate in the budgeting process for existing accounts and assist in projecting revenue for new clients.
  • Conduct client needs assessments to identify and define essential requirements, including project scopes and performance metrics.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven consultative sales experience, preferably within retail/commercial construction or similar sectors.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Sound understanding of construction practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, demonstrating initiative in driving results.
  • Advanced skills in relationship building, negotiation, and closing sales.
  • Strong organizational abilities accompanied by exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex issues with limited guidance.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Construction, or a related discipline is preferred.
