What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Engineer/Lead Data Scientist - Remote | WFH position at Get It - Professional Services?
Job Overview
We are a forward-thinking organization committed to the restoration of grasslands and the enhancement of soil carbon storage throughout the United States. Our mission is to empower ranchers by facilitating the implementation of regenerative land management practices that not only enrich soil health and foster biodiversity but also play a significant role in combating climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. With successful partnerships involving over 125 producers across 1.2 million acres in 20 states, we are dedicated to practices that restore grasslands, improve wildlife habitats, and promote healthy soils. Collaborating with us offers ranchers additional revenue opportunities through our innovative carbon credit program.
Currently, the vast majority of U.S. grasslands, over 41%, are utilized for grazing, which encompasses more than 350 million acres. Despite the remarkable potential of these lands to remove at least 500 million metric tons of carbon dioxide annually, less than 5% of this area is managed through regenerative practices. Our goal is to transform millions of acres of degraded grasslands into thriving ecosystems capable of sequestering substantial amounts of carbon. Our commitment to scientific rigor, quality, and transparency is reflected in our partnerships with leading organizations, and we have secured long-term contracts with major companies aiming to reduce their carbon footprint and achieve their sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
We take pride in fostering a diverse workplace that is free from discrimination. We believe that a variety of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds contributes to a more enriching environment for our employees and enhances the experience for our users and customers. As an equal opportunity employer, we ensure that all candidates receive fair consideration, regardless of protected characteristics.
Career Growth Opportunities
Our organization is dedicated to the professional growth and development of our team members. We offer support for educational materials and expenses related to ongoing learning opportunities, allowing employees to expand their expertise in their respective fields.
Compensation And Benefits
This position provides a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful environmental initiatives and contribute to the regenerative movement. Your work will have a direct impact on the measurement and verification of soil carbon removal, significantly influencing climate change mitigation efforts.
