Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and client agencies to effectively address service requests or incident tickets.
- Consult with peers to resolve application or database challenges, ensuring optimal solutions.
- Develop scripts and workflows to automate administrative tasks, leveraging your proficiency in Python and other scripting languages.
- Prepare and deliver accurate estimates of project timelines and resource requirements.
- Create comprehensive training materials and documentation to empower end-users with the knowledge to utilize our systems efficiently.
- Manage all phases of development and maintenance associated with assigned applications and scripts under general guidance.
- Conduct research on system improvements and engage in the analysis and design of computer applications.
- Design, code, test, and document applications and scripts, providing prompt support for both simple and complex production issues.
- Mentor junior team members and lead smaller projects or components of larger initiatives as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities are essential.
- Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geography/GIS, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis.
- At least one year of experience with scripting languages, APIs, and relevant modules such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Pandas, ArcPy, ArcGIS API, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with Microsoft SQL Enterprise Databases (v2016 ) and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- A minimum of two years of experience scripting with Python.
- Demonstrated experience in developing collaborative policies and workflows, along with creating user-focused training and documentation.
