This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle—from initial conceptual design through construction and commissioning—ensuring both technical excellence and timely execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process for transmission projects, confirming alignment with technical standards and project objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to obtain necessary resources, permits, and approvals.
- Create detailed project scopes, assess bids, and allocate contracts for engineering services.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of engineering documentation and deliverables throughout all project phases.
- Act as a technical consultant, providing expertise in value engineering and maintaining the quality of designs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in high-voltage (HV) transmission line development, design, and construction.
- Proficient in software tools such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong project management capabilities with the proficiency to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to enhance collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel within North America as required.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) is preferred.
- Experience with project management tools such as Primavera is advantageous.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects and relevant regulatory frameworks is a plus.
