Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-caliber technical studies and environmental documentation, including Biological Resource Assessments, biological CEQA/NEPA analyses, Jurisdictional Delineations, and permit application packages.
- Identify optimal permitting pathways for intricate projects and prepare necessary technical studies and materials for submission.
- Conduct stream and wetland delineations along with other crucial fieldwork for biological documentation.
- Lead complex biological permitting projects, adhering to regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and Coastal Act.
- Independently manage and execute medium to large projects, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
- Coordinate project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients and regulatory agencies, ensuring transparent communication and effective project management.
- Provide technical leadership to staff and subcontractors.
- Oversee quality assurance and control (QA/QC) reviews of technical reports, budgets, and timelines.
- Engage in client outreach to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Develop proposals and create cost and schedule estimates for prospective projects.
- Participate in client interviews and deliver presentations to secure project work.
- A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting.
- Expertise in biological resource assessments (CEQA/NEPA), botanical and wildlife species surveys, wetland delineations, CRAM assessments, regulatory permitting, restoration planning, and habitat management.
- Experience with utility, energy, water, or transportation projects is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology or a related field from an accredited institution, or a PhD with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- A demonstrated history of supervising staff, offering effective solutions, and cultivating positive relationships with colleagues, clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors.
