Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to become a crucial member of our innovative Critical Technologies team. In this remote position, you will provide essential support to Project Managers by overseeing a variety of projects, ensuring their successful execution through meticulous setup, adherence to compliance standards, and effective management of documentation. This role offers the chance to collaborate with technical teams at various sites to fulfill personnel requirements, tackle challenges, and communicate project developments. Regular site visits will be part of your responsibilities, as you monitor subcontractor and mechanical installation advancements and engage in project material logistics and procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including compliance records, schedules, daily reports, labor reporting, change orders, and quality control.
  • Perform routine visits to remote sites to ensure project conformity.
  • Supervise subcontractor and mechanical installation progress, delivering regular updates to management.
  • Formulate change orders based on bidding and sales processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate on project procurement, material transmittals, and logistics with internal teams and subcontractors.
  • Attend project meetings, documenting minutes and providing updates to the management team.
  • Monitor project schedules, ensuring that milestones and personnel requirements are addressed.
  • Assist site technical leads in overcoming project challenges and fulfilling personnel needs.
  • Analyze data, trends, and reports to promote ongoing project enhancements.

Required Skills

  • 1-5 years of experience in project management, ideally within HVAC or mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret project schedules and design custom Gantt charts.
  • Understanding of project management and bidding methodologies.
  • Skill in reading Bills of Materials (BOMs) and control drawings.
  • Experience in material procurement, logistics management, and project scheduling.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration.
  • Competency in identifying project critical paths and scheduling labor.
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities, including collegiate-level report writing.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
