Job Overview

We are on the lookout for a Senior Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This remote role focuses on leveraging your extensive experience with Microsoft services, particularly within Windows Server environments (2016 and later), while showcasing your expertise in Azure infrastructure. Your proficiency in Microsoft SQL administration and PowerShell scripting will be invaluable in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee Microsoft infrastructure solutions including Windows Server, Active Directory, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
  • Ensure the highest levels of availability, scalability, and security for all systems.
  • Manage and enhance critical Microsoft on-premises infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Deploy and administer Azure infrastructure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Networking, and Storage.
  • Carry out administration tasks for Microsoft SQL databases, including installation, configuration, backup, and performance optimization.
  • Utilize your expertise in essential Microsoft services, including Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, and Storage Replica.
  • Develop and automate routine tasks with PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency.
  • (Preferred) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement DevOps practices using Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • (Preferred) Experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere is advantageous.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering their skill development.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance your technical knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments (2016 and above).
  • Proficiency in Azure infrastructure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Networking, and Storage.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL administration.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for task automation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or Azure certifications are highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, emphasizing Microsoft services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server environments and Microsoft on-premises infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience with core Azure infrastructure services.
  • Proven skills in Microsoft SQL administration, including database installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Strong capabilities in PowerShell for automation and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices is an asset.
