Key Responsibilities
- Conduct penetration tests on applications and systems in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Execute remote or on-site assessments across various systems, networks, and applications to uncover possible security vulnerabilities.
- Analyze discovered vulnerabilities and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, potential risks, and security recommendations.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on security best practices and risk minimization strategies.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ascertain testing requirements and guarantee thorough evaluations.
- Innovate and implement advanced penetration testing methodologies, scripts, and tools to improve testing efficiency.
- Manage and deploy the Splunk infrastructure, ensuring appropriate data collection across systems.
- Oversee server management for the distribution of Splunk Universal Forwarder (UF) instances and the configuration of syslog servers to gather data from firewalls, IDS, and UPS devices.
- Implement Splunk Heavy Forwarders for data integration from databases or third-party systems.
- Configure and utilize Splunk HTTP Event Collector for data collection from custom applications.
- Utilize Splunk Stream to capture wire data, providing essential insights into raw or statistical data.
- Supervise the re-architecture of syslog aggregation for Splunk, including syslog configuration modifications.
- Expand log source collection for existing data sources and incorporate new sources as required.
- Develop custom scripts to enhance data collection and integrate non-standard products into the Splunk ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience in penetration testing and cybersecurity engineering.
- Solid understanding of Splunk, encompassing deployment, management, and customization of data collection infrastructure.
- Proficiency in creating scripts and tools for penetration testing and data collection.
- Familiarity with security protocols, systems, and frameworks.
- Capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in understanding security requirements.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling clear reporting and recommendations.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity and penetration testing.
- Proven experience managing Splunk and conducting security assessments.
