This pivotal role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and conclude projects related to distribution operations. The successful candidate will provide leadership, guidance, and strategic direction on project management initiatives throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Project Managers by overseeing recruitment, training, and performance assessment processes.
- Allocate resources effectively to projects based on individual skill sets and project requirements.
- Deliver technical advice and training on essential project management practices including estimation, planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Identify and address risks proactively across all projects to ensure successful outcomes.
- Employ innovative and analytical thinking to tackle challenges and resolve complex issues.
- Cultivate trusted relationships with key stakeholders and organizational leaders.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine processes and tools, ensuring PMO alignment with broader business objectives.
- Manage departmental budgets as well as individual project budgets to maintain financial oversight.
- Establish and uphold performance metrics to evaluate and enhance team success.
- Identify opportunities for optimizing project management processes to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Support the ongoing professional development of team members through mentoring and guidance.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed to advance the PMO’s objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Communications, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in product, program, or project management, preferably within a third-party logistics environment.
- Familiarity with Tier 1 systems such as WMS, YMS, and LMS (e.g., SAP, Red Prairie, Manhattan).
- Experience with facility layout design in a CAD environment is advantageous.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is mandatory.
- Preferred certifications include Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma.
