We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Health Director to join our team for an impactful summer program. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the health, safety, and overall well-being of high school students participating in a summer seminar.
Key Responsibilities
- Review student medical histories and work closely with parents and staff to ensure a safe and healthy program.
- Prepare the program infirmary for operation.
- Engage in essential health and safety training prior to the commencement of the program.
- Collaborate with fellow health directors on program-wide health and safety initiatives.
- Be readily available to address student health needs around the clock during the program.
- Oversee the execution of health and safety plans.
- Conduct health screenings and daily assessments with students.
- Manage health emergencies and injuries, providing first aid, coordinating medical care, and ensuring proper follow-up.
- Supervise the camp infirmary, including medication management and record-keeping.
- Accompany students on field trips as needed.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Health Director to maintain adequate staff coverage.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance future programs.
- Must possess a valid Maryland State certification or Compact Nursing License (physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse).
- Experience in working with children in summer camps or educational settings is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to manage high-stress scenarios while maintaining composure during emergencies.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in Google Drive and other web-based communication platforms.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A valid Maryland State certification or Compact Nursing License (physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse) is essential.
