Remote Project Manager - Ubuntu Embedded Systems | WFH

Job Overview

We are in search of a committed Project Manager to join our dynamic team and spearhead the execution of pioneering embedded systems projects. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the coordination and successful realization of customer-oriented projects, facilitating effective communication between engineering teams and clients. You will oversee projects that involve the provision of tailored Ubuntu images across a diverse array of devices, such as robots, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete project lifecycle, ensuring that both organizational and client objectives are achieved.
• Deliver professional engineering services, collaborating with teams on custom board enablement and Ubuntu image delivery.
• Assist in the formulation of project statements of work, timelines, and strategic plans.
• Ensure alignment with clients regarding project schedules and deliverables.
• Guarantee timely project execution within the defined scope, budget, and resources.
• Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing technical challenges to fulfill project goals.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and visibility throughout the project.
• Monitor third-party contributions and ensure their prompt integration into the project.
• Provide ongoing project status reports to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Recognize any custom engineering requests that lie outside standard agreements.
• Advocate for suitable technologies to clients, ensuring their needs are met.
• Support multiple time zones and adopt flexible work hours to accommodate project demands.
• Manage and prioritize various projects simultaneously to ensure effectiveness and success.
  
  

Required Skills

• Extensive project management experience in delivering engineering services to clients, with a focus on overseeing software development teams and field engineers.
• Proven history of managing complex international projects with cross-cultural teams.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and the open-source software ecosystem, coupled with a solid understanding of computer architecture.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Robust leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to cultivate successful partnerships in intricate organizational settings.
• PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is a valuable asset.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours to support global teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately four times a year for internal company events.
