We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program/Project Manager to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. This critical role involves overseeing the modernization of Child Care systems, where your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing child and family services. You will play a pivotal role in shaping technical initiatives and ensuring the successful management of project life cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of a state-of-the-art childcare tracking system.
- Accurately assess complex situations, identifying effective solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Maintain a repository of lessons learned for ongoing project enhancement.
- Monitor daily system operations to foresee and mitigate potential issues, taking corrective actions as required.
- Communicate project statuses, risks, and issues through clear verbal and written reports, making informed recommendations to stakeholders.
- Allocate resources effectively to manage workloads, adhering to budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical and analytical guidance to project teams.
- Employ agile methodologies to prioritize and deliver system improvements and corrections.
- Collaborate with various state agencies to optimize the use of the MD Think platform.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and implement effective solutions for identified challenges.
- Supervise tasks across multiple supporting teams to ensure overall system quality and security.
- Approve the deployment of code release packages for user acceptance testing and production environments.
- Conduct regular status meetings with internal and external teams to align objectives and address any arising issues.
- Assist in managing contracts and vendor relationships for assigned projects.
- Participate in monthly Program Advisory Committee meetings as a co-facilitator.
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency in using the CCATS application is essential.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with Maryland state procurement processes is advantageous.
- Experience in drafting Fit Gap Analysis would be beneficial.
- Previous expertise in preparing and delivering effective presentations is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required.
- A master's degree or further project management certification is preferred.
- A PhD in a related field is also a plus.
- At least 12 years of relevant industry experience is necessary.
- A minimum of 5 years managing project life cycles, particularly in internet and intranet software operations.
- At least 3 years of experience handling internet projects for government agencies in a multi-tier environment.
- A total of 10 years of combined technical experience in the IT field directly related to the required expertise.
