Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT solutions using Python tailored to enhance enterprise-level customer experience applications.
- Document and maintain systems, conduct unit tests, and perform peer code reviews to ensure quality in internally developed applications.
- Assess and conduct performance testing on purchased products to optimize functionality.
- Establish IT controls to uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and associated data.
- Participate in system design, coding, testing, and effective change management processes.
- Engage with diverse databases, including SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, dBase, and MS Access.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs using Python, ensuring a scalable and robust system architecture.
- Manage data efficiently by processing batch files and scheduling batch processes.
- Collaborate with team members to evaluate various libraries and technologies, ensuring alignment with business and technical needs.
- Proven expertise in unit testing, release procedures, and change management protocols.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of the systems development life cycle.
- Extensive experience with SQL scripting/querying and advanced database management.
- Proficiency in Python programming and related libraries, particularly for developing REST APIs and processing batch files.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux shell scripting and PySpark, as well as experience in a Hadoop environment.
- Experience with large data sets (millions of records) and conducting data analysis.
- Competence in utilizing desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools, including Visio.
- A methodical approach to evaluating technologies and libraries in line with business needs.
- A genuine curiosity for learning and growth, coupled with a desire to comprehend processes and data flow.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in technical design and coding within the IT industry.
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux shell scripting and advanced SQL.
- A strong background in handling large-scale data sets and utilizing PySpark within a Hadoop environment.
- A proactive inclination toward exploring new technologies and processes.
