Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive transmission system analyses utilizing industry-leading software such as PSSE or Powergem TARA.
- Develop and implement Python scripts to streamline and automate analytical processes.
- Engage in the modeling, simulation, and evaluation of electrical power systems.
- Apply linear sensitivity factors to optimize power system performance.
- Conduct load flow, transfer, and contingency analyses across various system operators.
- Document and communicate findings, methodologies, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Support a variety of ongoing projects and initiatives within the transmission analysis group.
- Assume additional responsibilities as necessary to facilitate team objectives.
- Active pursuit of a PhD in Electrical Power Systems.
- Proficiency with PSSE, TARA, or comparable power flow analysis software.
- Strong capabilities in Python scripting for automation and data manipulation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving competencies.
- Experience with linear sensitivity factors and power flow computation analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Completion of coursework related to fault-tolerant power systems, advanced power flow analysis, and power system transactions.
- Familiarity with power system operations, planning, and reliability standards is advantageous.
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Electrical Power Systems or a related field.
- Experience with relevant power flow software and Python scripting is essential.
