In the position of UAV Remote Sensing Project Manager, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of UAV project planning, development, and execution, ensuring the successful and efficient completion of all initiatives. Your primary duties will include:
- Overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of various UAV projects, ensuring adherence to project milestones.
- Leading and mentoring a skilled team of UAV technicians and specialists, managing assignments and ensuring work quality.
- Assisting in defining project scope and actively participating in contract negotiations.
- Developing and monitoring project budgets, taking corrective actions when necessary to keep projects aligned with financial expectations.
- Collaborating with team members to establish database and schema requirements, managing UAV data for insightful analysis.
- Coordinating UAV flight requests, pilot assignments, and operational tasks related to data acquisition, including mapping, photography, video, and LiDAR.
- Supervising UAV flight and processing software, while managing partnerships with platforms such as SkySkopes, DroneDeploy, and Pix4D.
- Participating in business development initiatives, including responding to RFPs and preparing project proposals.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and associated extensions.
- Knowledge of relational database management, data analytics, and web-based GIS mapping services.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Effective time management skills.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in GIS or UAV operations is essential.
- Remote Pilot Certification is required; Remote Sensing Certification is an advantage.
