Join Our Esteemed Real Estate Firm as a Bookkeeper/Accountant/Office Manager - Remote Opportunity

We are a thriving organization specializing in real estate, construction, and management, looking for a committed Bookkeeper/Accountant/Office Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with maintaining our financial records and supporting the seamless operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of daily financial transactions, including:
    • Processing weekly payroll
    • Overseeing Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Managing daily remote deposits
    • Reconciling monthly bank statements
    • Verifying and posting supplier transactions
    • Creating and managing invoicing processes
    • Organizing documentation through proper filing
    • Preparing financial reports, including monthly reports and year-end close
    • Adhering to established bookkeeping policies and procedures
    • Assisting with documentation for construction projects and performing additional assigned duties
Additional Responsibilities

  • Compile primary financial data for accounting records
  • Validate the accuracy of business transactions
  • Conduct data entry and administrative support
  • Facilitate weekly payroll processing
  • Manage departmental mail, including sorting and distribution
  • Track insurance certificates for audits
  • Support internal and external audits as required
  • Oversee the general ledger activities
  • Develop cash flow projections as necessary
  • Generate subcontractor 1099 forms and fulfill other IRS year-end obligations
  • Coordinate monthly accounting closes and reconciliations
  • Manage the verification, logging, and mailing of checks, including expedited processing
  • Organize and store invoices, checks, and related documents
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payments
  • Manage AIA documentation processes

Required Skills

  • Prior experience in accounting, finance, or a related sector
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Appfolio
  • Experience with AIA documents is advantageous

Qualifications

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline preferred
  • Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, particularly with both technical and financial contexts
  • Attention to detail and adherence to standard procedures are crucial
  • Experience in an Accounts Payable (AP) role is desirable
  • Familiarity with expense reporting is necessary
