The ideal candidate will be skilled in overseeing the financing process from inception to closure, encompassing outreach, origination, underwriting, application processing, and finalization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Managing Director and team members to deliver expert capital market insights to clients.
- Independently oversee the complete transaction process.
- Innovate financing strategies, assist in acquisition financing, and collaborate on project financing and refinancing endeavors.
- Foster ongoing communication and relationships with clients while scouting for new business prospects.
- Conduct prompt analyses and underwriting assessments for commercial real estate transactions.
- Maintain daily interaction with borrowers, lenders, attorneys, title and escrow personnel, and report writers regarding closing items and timelines.
- Develop and sustain thorough checklists and timelines for each transaction.
- Review loan applications and coordinate requirements with external vendors, attorneys, and escrow agents.
- Procure zoning letters and occupancy certificates.
- Collect and submit lender closing documentation and items.
- Compile invoices and payment instructions for escrow settlement.
- Organize loan documentation and facilitate signing processes.
- Post-closing: assemble loan documents and submit finalized files to servicing and the borrower.
- Regularly update and maintain the status of loans in progress within the company's tracking system.
- Perform additional business-related tasks as assigned by management.
- Over 5 years of experience in real estate capital markets, banking, or related fields.
- Profound understanding of real estate capital market principles and the U.S. debt capital markets.
- Established relationships and experience collaborating with real estate owners and developers.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with clients, achieving annual origination of $50M or more.
- Experience in guiding junior staff members.
- Competence in managing multiple projects and contributing effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for articulating ideas compellingly.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, able to evaluate risks and identify risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with title/escrow processes, real estate law, and underwriting is advantageous.
- Motivated and ambitious, with a robust desire for personal and professional growth.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several transactions concurrently.
