The successful candidate will be proficient in overseeing the financing process from inception to completion, encompassing outreach, origination, underwriting, application processing, and transaction closing.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with the Managing Director and team members to deliver expert capital market guidance to clients.
- Independently navigate transactions from initiation to completion.
- Propose innovative financing solutions, facilitate acquisition financing, and partner on various project financing and refinancing opportunities.
- Sustain ongoing client relationships while actively seeking new business prospects.
- Conduct timely analyses and underwriting of commercial real estate transactions.
- Maintain consistent communication with all parties involved, including borrowers, lenders, attorneys, title and escrow officers, and report writers regarding closing items and deadlines.
- Develop and uphold detailed checklists and timelines for each transaction.
- Review loan applications, coordinating requirements with external vendors, attorneys, and escrow entities.
- Collect and submit necessary lender closing items and documentation.
- Organize loan documentation and facilitate signing processes.
- Post-closing, gather and submit closing files to both servicing departments and borrowers.
- Regularly update and manage the pipeline of active loans within the company's tracking system.
- Execute additional relevant business duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the realms of real estate capital markets, banking, or closely related fields.
- Comprehensive understanding of real estate capital market principles and the U.S. debt capital markets.
- Established professional relationships with real estate owners and developers.
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles with an annual origination track record exceeding $50M.
- Proven capability to mentor and manage junior staff.
- Capacity to juggle multiple projects efficiently, both collaboratively and independently.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a talent for persuading and articulating ideas.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess risk and identify mitigating measures.
- Familiarity with title/escrow processes, real estate law, and underwriting is advantageous.
