Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of intricate property claims, ensuring timely and equitable resolutions.
- Collaborate effectively with external vendors and internal teams to streamline the claims processing workflow.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations to assess damages, gathering pertinent information from policyholders, third parties, and other sources.
- Analyze policy terms to determine coverage, including recognizing potential liability and subrogation opportunities.
- Negotiate claim settlements within defined authority limits, consulting management on escalated issues when necessary.
- Maintain meticulous documentation throughout the claims process.
- Leverage estimating technology platforms and virtual inspection tools to evaluate property damage.
- Assist during peak workload periods and catastrophe (CAT) response operations, which may involve being on-call and occasional travel.
- Address claims with legal implications and liaise with legal professionals as required.
- Stay informed on jurisdictional laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing property claims, specifically focusing on dwelling and structural damages.
- Proficient in Xactimate or equivalent estimating software.
- Strong understanding of residential construction and property insurance policies.
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills, alongside a keen investigative mindset.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and resolve problems in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% of the year for claims resolution and catastrophe response.
- Must secure an insurance adjuster license within a 90-day timeframe (with up to three attempts allowed).
- Experience with complex condominium claims, litigation, and liability cases is preferred.
- Familiarity with virtual claims technologies such as ClaimsXperience, Hover, or EagleView is advantageous.
- Professional insurance designations such as AINS, CPCU, AIC, SCLA (or currently pursuing) are beneficial.
- Xactimate Level 1 or Level 2 certification is preferred.
- An active adjuster license is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desirable.
- Prior experience in a call center setting is a bonus.
- Military experience (active duty, veteran, spouse, or domestic partner) is valued.
