Key Responsibilities
- Participate in litigation and enforcement actions involving financial institutions, encompassing regulatory and administrative issues.
- Oversee consumer class action lawsuits related to banking and financial service practices.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions, and manage discovery and overall case administration.
- Collaborate with a proficient team of litigators, utilizing shared expertise in financial services law and litigation.
- Represent clients in proceedings before regulatory bodies such as the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, CFPB, and FTC.
- Valid license to practice law in Pennsylvania, with residency within commuting distance of downtown Pittsburgh.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a fast-paced U.S. law firm.
- At least 2 years of experience specializing in financial services litigation, including regulatory actions and consumer class actions.
- Profound knowledge of financial services regulations and litigation, including:
- Fair lending and anti-discrimination legislation (Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act)
- Credit card regulations and disclosures (Truth in Lending Act)
- Mortgage origination and servicing standards (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, TILA)
- Preemption of federal interest rates (exportation doctrine)
- Unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices and false advertising
- Enforceability of arbitration agreements
- Commercial disputes involving financial institutions
- Anti-money laundering laws
- License proceedings related to foreign sanctions cases
- Outstanding advocacy, communication, and writing abilities.
- Technologically proficient, particularly in trial preparation and case management.
- Competitive hourly rate of \(35-\)45, based on experience.
