Key Responsibilities
As a Land Manager, you will lead our land acquisition efforts by identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and finalizing land transactions in alignment with our strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Collaborating with internal teams for site identification, landowner engagement, and negotiation to secure land for projects.
- Cultivating meaningful, cross-functional relationships with our Sales, Project Management, Design, and Leadership teams.
- Actively expanding our land pipeline by sourcing potential land deals through a variety of methods, including professional networking.
- Establishing and maintaining trusted connections with a network of land brokers, land developers, agricultural professionals, and other influential figures in local markets.
- Negotiating advantageous terms and prices for properties to support our business goals.
- Drafting option agreements, purchase contracts, and other legal documents in collaboration with our internal legal team.
- Partnering with the Leadership Team to develop project financial models and strategies.
- Maintaining a comprehensive CRM/land database (Salesforce) with relevant data, adhering to best practices.
- Monitoring and reporting on market trends and competitor activities.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a related field.
- Welcoming a diverse range of educational backgrounds (e.g., Sales, Business, Ag Business, Environmental Sciences, Communications, etc.).
- Ideally located in the Omaha, NE area with the capability to travel at least 35% of the time (predominantly day trips with occasional overnight stays).
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to traverse rugged terrain for site visits, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Valid driver's license and adherence to Company safety policies.
