Job Overview
As a Tax Accountant, your expertise will contribute to maintaining tax compliance and optimizing our financial strategies. You will be involved in a variety of tasks that ensure accuracy and accountability in our tax-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess accounting records, prepare adjusting entries, and compile thorough workpaper files.
- Prepare federal and state tax returns including 1065, 1040, and 1041 forms.
- Conduct tax projections and estimate calculations effectively.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, personal property tax, and business license reporting.
- Perform necessary tax research to resolve issues encountered during tax preparation.
- Maintain open and constructive communication with team members.
- Adhere to prescribed procedures, rules, and laws while actively pursuing improvements in processes and workflows.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting.
- At least 3 years of current tax experience (experience with a family office or a similar environment is preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience utilizing UltraTax is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate effective teamwork.
- Ability to conduct tax research as needed.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
- CPA certification is not mandatory, but considered a plus.
