Position Summary:
As a Special Education Coordinator, you will play a crucial role as a liaison between our schools. Your responsibilities include serving as a designated special education director, providing technical support to schools, and ensuring compliance with special education guidelines. By assisting in the implementation of mission-critical projects and supporting school staff, you will contribute to the improvement of student outcomes and the overall success of our schools.
Essential Duties And Role-Specific Responsibilities:
Serve as a school-level Special Education Director Designee, building capacity by training other designees.
Utilize conflict resolution, mediation, and persuasion skills to address challenges effectively.
Coordinate services for special education students in assigned schools, including facilitating meetings such as IEP, Manifestations, and FBA/Behavior Plan meetings.
Provide continuous in-service programs to enhance the professional staff's abilities and student outcomes.
Assist in auditing schools and implementing the Special Education Comprehensive Plan and related guidelines.
Act as a liaison between schools, local school districts, and Central Office to address concerns related to exceptional students.
Review and manage special education files for compliance with regulations.
Provide technical assistance for state and federal reporting, including special education December 1st Count and End of Year reports.
Collaborate with various departments to implement MTSS/RTI and support the special education identification process.
Attend trainings, meetings, and professional development activities as required.

What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking candidates with:
Master's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
Special Education Teacher or Special Education Service Provider license.
Knowledge of State and Federal education law and current issues in Exceptional Students education reform.
Ability to forge and manage cross-departmental relationships.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience managing multiple complex projects.
Familiarity with workplace technology.
Physical Demands:
