Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of winter ice skating and ice bumper car activities, including overseeing the front ticket office and supervising seasonal personnel.
- Assist in the daily opening and closing procedures of the facility.
- Facilitate effective facility and event management, including the supervision of full ice and facility rentals, often scheduled for weekend mornings.
- Coordinate food and beverage services to enhance the visitor experience.
- Support marketing efforts, including social media engagement and website updates.
- Train and mentor staff to uphold exceptional customer service standards.
- Maintain clear and positive communication with both patrons and team members.
- Enforce skating rink regulations and manage patron inquiries and issues.
- Monitor the ice skating environment for safety and address any emergent challenges.
- Assist in planning and managing events, ensuring seamless execution from setup to breakdown.
- Oversee cash management tasks, including balancing cash drawers and updating point of sale records.
- Collaborate with safety personnel to guarantee patron safety and well-being.
- Supervise and guide seasonal staff, including Skate Hosts and Ticket Sellers, throughout the winter season.
- Proven experience in customer service within a public-facing environment.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and independently, with guidance from the City Center Manager.
- A bachelor’s degree in sport management, recreation management, business, event management, or a related field is preferred.
- Availability for weekend, evening, and regular business hours is essential.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is preferred, with basic first aid training required within the first three months.
- Must be available to work at least two holidays and during school vacation periods.
