Job Overview

We are in search of a highly qualified Northstar Trainer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Global Public Affairs, Office of Analytics. This position, primarily remote, will focus on delivering specialized training on the Northstar Media Monitoring Tool to enhance the analytical and reporting capabilities of U.S. diplomatic practitioners. The trainer will be instrumental in facilitating both introductory and advanced training sessions throughout the Department of State and other U.S. Government offices, working closely with teams to tailor solutions relevant to their specific missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design a thorough training curriculum that highlights Northstar’s functionalities, including advanced features such as AI capabilities and media narrative analysis.
  • Adapt training materials to meet the unique requirements of different U.S. diplomatic missions.
  • Produce engaging training content, including presentations, manuals, and interactive exercises to boost user participation and skills.
  • Conduct both virtual and in-person training sessions, including demonstrations, briefings, and workshops, considering global time zones for scheduling.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to conduct detailed training at U.S. embassies and consulates.
  • Collaborate with various offices within the Department of State to effectively integrate Northstar into departmental workflows.
  • Serve as an independent advisor to the Bureau of Global Public Affairs, offering insights on optimal platform deployment and functionality.
  • Create assessments to evaluate participants' understanding, and provide comprehensive feedback based on training outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in curriculum development with a solid grasp of digital media analysis and reporting tools.
  • Skilled in conveying complex technical information in a clear manner to diverse audiences.
  • Familiar with AI-driven tools, media monitoring systems, and social media analytics.
  • Must be willing to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as communications, political science, or data analysis.
  • At least 7 years of experience in developing and delivering training, especially for intricate analytical tools.
  • Experience working within governmental settings, particularly in the realm of foreign affairs or diplomatic contexts, is preferred.
