Key Responsibilities
- Provide care, transfer, and transport patients requiring Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and Specialty/Critical care.
- Execute procedural or pharmacological interventions within your professional scope.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting all aspects of patient care and transport.
- Ensure that ambulances and medical equipment are maintained in optimal working order.
- Utilize advanced medical equipment including IV pumps, ventilators, and cardiac monitors effectively.
- Conduct vehicle and supply checks on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with your team to complete transport requests safely and efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with the communications center and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive patient care records.
- Gather and provide verbal reports to and from facility staff.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Participate in necessary training and continuing education opportunities.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and courtesy.
- Follow applicable laws, rules, and regulations in every aspect of the role.
- Perform additional assigned duties as required.
- Maryland Paramedic certification (with a willingness to obtain DC certification).
- Current CPR, National Certification, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Preferred experience in inter-facility transport.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving history (for drivers).
- EVOC certification or equivalent (for drivers).
- Understanding of federal medical necessity guidelines.
- Capability to safely lift 150 lbs and assist patients of various sizes.
- Proficient in navigating stretchers in diverse environments.
- Commitment to treating all patients with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
- Successful completion of an EMT-Paramedic program or related certification.
- Relevant advanced life support certifications.
- Experience in emergency medical services with a focus on patient care and transport is preferred.
