Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse range of therapeutic recreation programs, including small group, individual, and large group activities.
- Research and introduce dynamic program ideas while considering feedback from participants.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Services Manager to plan the weekly therapeutic program schedule and ensure seamless daily operations through effective communication with the Program Manager.
- Procure necessary activity supplies, organize activity spaces, train team members, and enforce safety protocols.
- Assist with the transportation and supervision of individuals during activities, both on-site and off-site.
- Conduct recreational assessments, establish individualized recreational goals within the initial 30 days of admission, and document progress weekly.
- Uphold integrity by adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, while performing additional duties as needed.
- Active CTRS credential from NCTRC is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with exceptional organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and a commitment to fostering diversity.
- Attention to detail and professional etiquette in all communications and interactions.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Therapeutic Recreation, ABA, or a related field; a degree in another discipline with at least two years of relevant experience may be considered.
- At least two years of experience in leading recreational groups or activities.
- One year of experience working with individuals who meet program admission criteria is preferred.
- Valid, non-probationary state driver’s license for work-related driving purposes.
- Personal vehicle insurance that meets required coverage for work-related driving.
- Capability to successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and physical assessment.
