Key Responsibilities

• Receive and accession various tissue specimens, including surgical and biopsy samples, for processing.
• Provide essential support to pathologists in the gross dissection area.
• Execute tissue embedding in paraffin, along with cutting, staining, and labeling slides with precision.
• Innovate and refine laboratory procedures while evaluating reagents and equipment for effectiveness.
• Oversee quality control measures by coordinating internal validations and auditing operations.
• Facilitate ongoing education for laboratory personnel and act as a consultant for best practices.
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance.
• Conduct special staining techniques, immunoperoxidase tests, and other advanced procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols while documenting all incidents appropriately.
• Assist in managing laboratory workflows to optimize productivity.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• ASCP accreditation (HTL, HT, CT, MT, or MLT) is essential.
• Current state licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical for team collaboration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing stress levels.
