Position: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid/ On-Site)

Job Type: 6 Months Contract

MUST HAVE:

• Operational Accounting background, accounting degree, and preferred CPA cert.
• The interviews start with Teams, then On-Site for the final.

Sr. Solutions Analyst:

The key responsibilities of a Senior Solutions Analyst focus on data analysis, the development and customization of analytical tools for accounting and operations teams, and providing quality customer support for all assigned software applications. The Sr. Solutions Analyst must work closely with the accounting, operations, and software development teams to ensure software specifications are designed, developed, and implemented successfully. This position also requires effective project management for assigned software applications and projects.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Minimum 5 years of experience required in Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Information Systems with proven project management skills.

Technical Acumen:

• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience in creating business requirements and system specification documents, business data flow diagrams, and detailed test plans is desirable.
• Prior experience working with financial data is a plus.
• Strong SQL skills required, and familiarity with query tools such as TOAD, Crystal Reports/Business Objects, and Spotfire is beneficial.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).

Database Knowledge:

• Experience with or familiarity with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Single Store, and DB2 is beneficial.
• Travel requirements: Occasional travel required.

Core Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide Customer Support for assigned applications.
• Address and troubleshoot user issues and respond to inquiries.
• Analyze and address production issues with both short- and long-term solutions.
• Track and escalate production issues as necessary.
• Participate in the development of new or existing in-house applications.
• Lead, organize, and monitor the progress of projects.
• Utilize robust analytical capabilities to develop clear requirements, specifications, and data flow diagrams.
• Ensure Quality Assurance by generating detailed test plans, undertaking comprehensive testing of applications and updates, and managing successful deployments.
• Utilize SQL queries for issue resolution and reporting purposes.
• Prepare system documentation and conduct training for Business Users.
• Support assigned 3rd-party applications.
• Lead application reviews, implementations, and upgrades.
• Document and report software bugs/functionality issues and monitor those issues for corrective action, User testing, and implementation.
• Provide Training and Audit Support for all assigned applications.
• Provide and/or coordinate User Training and generate System Documentation for applications, as needed.
• Provide Audit and Internal Control Support.
