What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Counselor Long-Term Substitute position at Gettysburg Montessori Charter School?
Qualifications:
Hold a PA state certification for school counseling
Master's degree required
Has completed all appropriate background checks as required by law, including, but not limited to: criminal history report, PA child abuse clearance, and FBI background check
Preferred Montessori credentials
Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and students
Excellent organizational skills
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
Work effectively with other staff members in the interdisciplinary setting to address students' needs and help to develop a nurturing school environment for each child
Participate effectively in meetings and in-service training
Observe children of concern
Member of child study team
Provide leadership for crisis training and handing crisis situations
Meet and conference with parents and teachers regarding psychological health issues interfering with academic progress
Contribute to the school's inclusive workplace
Perform other duties as assigned by school administration in accordance with school policies and practices
