Shipping and Receiving Lead Description: The qualified Shipping and Receiving Lead will preferably possess have a high school diploma or equivalent and will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. A qualified candidate will also prepare items for shipment or reception by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards:
- Verifies and keeps records on all incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
- Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Report and record any discrepancy, damaged items, shortages, broken and/or unidentified package to the Operations Manager
- Processes Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, and other freight carrier labels and coordinate scheduled pickups
- Loads common carrier and company vehicles when necessary
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Shipping and Receiving Clerk Requirements: The Shipping and Receiving Lead should preferably possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a valid driver’s license. The Shipping and Receiving Lead should preferably possess 2-3 years of experience using all computer functions necessary to perform shipping and receiving duties with a warehouse environment. This includes standing continuously, lifting up to 75lbs unassisted and repetitive use of hands/manual dexterity. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk should possess the ability communicate effectively with co-workers, organize and prioritize job tasks to aid in satisfying customer requirements. The ideal candidate must also possess the ability to work overtime as needed.
