About The Role:
GFF is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team! Located in vibrant Victory Plaza, this Dallas-based role is a member of our Operations Studio, which works to support the Designers, Architects, and Planners in our three Texas offices.
The primary job duties of the Accounting Specialist involve leading project accounting for each of our Studios (Civic, Faith, Retail, High-Rise, Education, etc..) including billing, maintaining and reconciling consultant payables, overseeing accounts payable, assist with business insurance functions, and perform a variety of routine accounting functions. The Accounting Specialist will partner with our Studio Directors to maintain a healthy and accurate General Ledger.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee and manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash disbursements.
- Utilize Unanet to improve financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
- Develop and oversee the company's annual budgeting process and assist in financial planning.
- Identify and implement process improvements for greater operational efficiency.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, with some supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Demonstrated expertise with Unanet or similar financial software.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
