Overview:
The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for managing the utility and infrastructure aspects of manufacturing projects. This includes overseeing vendors, equipment moves, construction, and utility infrastructure upgrades. The role focuses on large-scale projects such as roof replacements, manufacturing equipment installations, and building upgrades. The Facilities Project Manager works closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, to specification, and most importantly—safely.
Vendor Management:
- Oversee and coordinate vendor activities, including trades for utility and infrastructure upgrades, equipment riggers, crane operators, and construction crews. Conduct safety walkthroughs, assessments, mitigation planning, and contractor briefings. Ensure vendor compliance with company policies.
Issue Resolution:
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of project-related issues, particularly HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and utility infrastructure malfunctions, as well as urgent building repairs.
Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee large-scale utility and infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Budget & Financial Oversight:
- Develop project budgets, track expenses, and manage vendor invoices while ensuring financial compliance.
Purchasing & Orders:
- Utilize digital systems to facilitate purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget constraints.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, vendor contracts, project milestones, and system performance metrics.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all facility activities adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating vendor contracts, service agreements, and warranties to optimize service quality and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4 years of post-graduate work experience
- 2 years of project management experience
- PMP or equivalent certification strongly preferred
