This position includes the research, evaluation, and purchase of products and materials necessary to manufacture saleable products. The role places purchase orders, manages returns, and ensures PO terms are met. This position will also schedule daily production for a manufacturing department to support customer demand for our growing business while working alongside line operations and collaborates with other departments to maintain a clear view of available inventory and capacity and develops a realistic production schedule.

What will your day look like?

Buying Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders for inventory as well as non-inventory items Monitor PO changes, planned deliveries, and supply issues.
• Keep Ops and other inside customers informed of PO activity.
• Expedite shipments this may include imports as well as domestic shipments.
  • • Monitor and manage inventory.  Identifies inventory team of counts needed to correct inventory                   discrepancies.
    • Plan inventory levels to support production schedule and company targets, while reducing E&O risk.
    • Drive continuous improvement by looking for ways to reduce on hand inventory while fully supporting the production plan.
    • Make sure that special executions are supported with inventory in a timely fashion.
    • Monitor forecast and incorporate into Purchasing timetable.
    • Coordinate outsourced supply with third party suppliers.
    • Support new product introductions through timely purchase of materials and components.
    • Communicate cross organizational lines to coordinate purchasing and inventory activities and share information.

Planning Responsibilities

• • • Create manufacturing orders that drive production, creating work for production staff.
    • Work across organizational lines to coordinate production activities and share information
    • Factor in any special executions that were not included in the forecast
    • Create, maintain, and update daily, a rolling two-week production schedule

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• 1-5 years of buying experience.

• Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to work well under pressure.
• Expected to succeed within a competitive environment.
• Demonstrate good judgment.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative.
• Advanced Excel Experience
• Oracle experience a plus
