Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all aspects of supply chain management, including purchasing materials and services, material planning, coordinating with production scheduling, and managing inventory turns and value. This role involves negotiating with vendors, developing strategic sourcing partnerships, and aligning suppliers to achieve company goals such as On-Time Delivery, Quality, and Cost.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate with vendors for goods and services to secure the best possible price, quality, and service guarantee
Establish and ensure compliance with Purchasing Policies
Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
Examine bids and make awards
Establish account / credit and terms with vendors
Negotiate and monitor blanket purchase orders
Work closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper supplies arrive
Troubleshoot inventory quantity discrepancies with manufacturing
Coordinate with shipping and receiving for outside services
Maintain accuracy of Epicor system with current standard prices, lead times, and other relevant data
Support new customer efforts by obtaining cost-effective quotes and optimal terms
Work with Accounting Department to resolve invoice discrepancies
Process Supplier Performance Reports for on-time delivery and quality standards
Train and develop Buyer positions to align with company objectives
Perform buying functions within the department along with strategic sourcing
Process Epicor DMRs to ensure inventory accuracy and maintain quality standards for outsourced products
Ensure timely delivery of materials and outsourced services
Track and report data and recommendations on inventory levels and turns to the executive team
Maintain thorough understanding of Purchase order flow down requirements
Apply knowledge of sheet metal grades and specifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related area
Five or more years of experience in supply chain and / or inventory control
Excellent computer skills, particularly with Epicor and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of production, office operations, and inventory procedures
Proficiency with ERP / MRP systems and associated processes
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments

Physical Requirements
Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
Reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
Office environment with moderate noise levels
Not exposed to weather conditions
May require occasional visits to manufacturing or warehouse areas
