Job Overview:
As a Fleet Specialist, you will supervise driver and customer activities and manage assigned equipment. Responsibilities include coordinating with customer operations, dispatch, load building, customer service, counseling drivers on safety and policy issues, safety management, shop maintenance, and increasing freight volume in our supply chain. Key Responsibilities:
- Decrease risk across the fleet using operational logistics strategies.
- Handle all aspects of dedicated customer service, including load booking and resolving service failures.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans and operational goals.
- Implement procedures for employee development and performance monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and customers.
- Monitor and report service performance to exceed customer expectations.
- Lead by example to promote efficiency and success among associates.
- Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance, Safety and Compliance, Drivers, Operations, and Administrative Services.
- Manage the fleet alongside operational management peers, including training and disciplinary activities.
- Communicate directly with customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of D.O.T. rules and regulations, including hours of service.
- Experience in a dispatch or operations environment.
- Computer literate with the ability to analyze data trends and recommend actions.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain high energy throughout the workday.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
