Summary
The Logistics Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for managing the coordination, booking and overall execution of transportation lanes.
Core Duties
- Coordinate with warehouse, sales and support teams to ensure outbound / inbound freight is properly bid and correct carriers are being selected based on cost and customer expectations.\
- Optimize transport planning in the most efficient way for customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide analysis and recommendations specific to transportation spend.
- Generate and maintain relationships, including rate negotiations, with existing and new 3rd party carriers.
- Review vendor bookings and provide approval or rejection of bookings based on operational and financial impact.
- Champion continuous improvement projects to reduce overall freight spend.
- Assist with the development of international shipping documentation and provide guidance on export compliance requirements as needed.
Job Requirements
- 2 years experience in logistics / transportation management.
- Results-driven with a keen ability to make sound decisions.
- Microsoft Office knowledge required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
