CONSTRUCTION MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing, planning, organizing, and controlling construction projects. This role will coordinate and monitor field operations, ensuring safe and efficient work, and overseeing all personnel and materials. Specific duties may vary depending on the type of project, but generally tasks include scheduling work to proceed according to a strict timeline, overseeing staff on a construction site, conducting audits and checks to ensure that work corresponds with requirements, and monitoring safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of previous experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in either Retail or Restaurant construction
- Understanding of construction equipment including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
- Understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
- Able to read and comprehend floor plans, equipment manuals, schematics, and complex instructions
- Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project)
- Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices
- Must be able to work in normal office conditions, construction, and field environments
