As a Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing our store and maintaining the high standards that Ghirardelli is known for. You will support the General Manager and the management team to ensure the store delivers excellent customer service, maximizes financial performance, and fosters a positive work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
Store Management
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the store and employees by effectively managing safety protocols, risk prevention, and response procedures.
- Communicate effectively and timely with all levels of the organization, adhering to company standards for team-building, recognition, and professionalism.
- Collaborate closely with store personnel, the General Manager, division management teams, and corporate liaisons, including HR, IT, finance, and payroll.
Restaurant and Retail Operations
- Prioritize daily store activities under the direction of the General Manager.
- Manage the operations of the sales floor, including cash/wrap, retail, and fountain areas, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal placement of Chocolateers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with Corporate employees and outside vendors when management is not present, especially during absences, vacations, or leaves.
- Uphold exemplary customer service standards through leadership and behavior modeling.
- Monitor sales and labor costs in real-time to maximize profitability without compromising customer service.
- Respond promptly to escalated customer service issues.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food/product safety, and branding, including guest communications regarding allergens, ensuring strict adherence to company policy.
- Utilize the MICROS system effectively.
People Management
- Assist with payroll, scheduling, interviewing, and in-service training in coordination with the General Manager and HR/payroll departments.
- Develop Chocolateers through coaching, mentoring, and empowerment.
- Handle basic employee relations functions, including discipline or suspensions, as needed under the direction of the General Manager.
- Serve as a resource and role model for Chocolateers.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Team-building skills, including empathy, rapport-building, delegation, and empowerment.
- Effective time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to conduct evidence-based business forecasting for sales and resource needs.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems like MICROS.
- Knowledge of restaurant or retail management techniques.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of related experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment, with six or more months in a supervisory role preferred.
Working Conditions
- Occasional ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel to various locations across the country.
Pay Rate: $22.00/hr.
