Position Summary:
The Production Manager will oversee and optimize assembly line production and management. This role requires a strategic leader with experience managing assembly stations, personnel, safety, testing methods, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence through effective space management, adherence to safety protocols, and continual improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Line Management:
- Oversee multiple single and multi-person assembly stations to ensure production efficiency and quality.
- Streamline assembly line operations to meet production goals and deadlines.
Team and Personnel Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage assembly personnel, ensuring team productivity while maintaining positive culture.
- Implement training programs to enhance skills and enforce safety protocols.
Safety and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce safety standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA guidelines.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular training and audits.
Documentation and Quality Control:
- Oversee PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and FEMA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) documentation.
- Ensure assembly processes align with quality control and industry standards.
Assembly line testing and fixturing:
- Design, construct, and maintain equipment and fixtures necessary to ensure maximum workflow and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in assembly line management, workflow analysis, and documentation.
- Proficiency in workflow planning and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards in warehouse environments.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Strong leadership background with a history of managing teams and personnel.
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills with above average abilities in general mechanical repair, carpentry, and machinery maintenance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certifications.
- Background in managing multi-person assembly production environments.
- Experience with PPAP and FEMA documentation.
