What are the responsibilities and job description for the Servers - Beer/Wine/Cocktails/Coffee & Small Plates position at Ghostlight Coffee?
We are looking for outgoing and hospitality focused servers at Ghostlight Coffee's new concept GATHER by Ghostlight. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and reliable. The restaurant will be located at 37-39 W. 4th Street in the Historic Dayton Arcade.
This new concept will be specializing in original house cocktails, beer, wine, coffee and a small-plates style menu. This role would work closely with the General Manager, Bartenders and Chef for top-notch, customer-focused service.
An ideal candidate will have several years of restaurant and bar experience, some education in the beer/wine/cocktails and a passion for hospitality.
Duties include:
- Greeting guests, explaining the concept
- Presenting the menu and helping customers select food and beverages
- Beer, Wine, Cocktail and Coffee Knowledge are a must (training will be provided), so guest questions can be addressed completely.
- Delivering food to tables
- Clearing tables quickly and efficiently as guests finish plates and drinks, offering additional food and beverage.
- Conversational hospitality will be expected, as guests will likely have many questions about the history of the building, other suggested places of interest in the area, etc.
- Delivering a great customer experience
Qualifications
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Able to multitask efficiently
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience as a Server, Waitress, or Waiter a plus
Part-time servers are needed primarily for Thursday through Saturday evenings, Sunday Brunch, and various catered events on an as-needed basis. Potential additional lunch-time shifts will be available as well.
Applicants who have additional skills, will be considered for full-time split positions, such as Bartender, Sommelier, Barista, Cook, Kitchen Support.
Wages commensurate with experience.
Reports directly to the General Manager and Lead Bartender.
