POSITION DETAILS
The Ghostwriter team is searching for a fun and motivated Lead Bartender and a Lead Server. The ideal candidates have a genuine desire to serve guests and provide a memorable experience that brings them back. This individual desires to be part of a fun, motivated and supportive team. The ideal candidate will be helpful, generous and knowledgeable about Ghostwriter food and drinks. The applicant must have the ability to multitask and prioritize expectations. Lead Bartender Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Lead by example in customer service, engaging guests, upselling, and creating an exceptional bar experience.
- Maintain bar inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels to control costs and prevent shortages.
- Develop and update cocktail menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and aligning with the venue’s concept.
- Train and mentor bar staff on drink recipes, service techniques, responsible alcohol service, and upselling.
- Monitor cash handling, sales transactions, and POS operations, ensuring accuracy and preventing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with management on bar promotions, events, and special menus to drive revenue.
- Ensure compliance with all liquor laws, company policies, and health code regulations.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation of bartenders and barbacks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume or upscale environment.
- Proven leadership experience or shift lead responsibilities in a bar setting.
- Extensive knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (kegs, cases of liquor, etc.).
- Must possess or be able to obtain required alcohol service certifications.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering.
- POS system proficiency (Toast).
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Lead Server Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee front-of-house service operations, ensuring smooth execution of shifts and excellent guest experiences.
- Act as the point person for servers, assisting with table assignments, service standards, and customer interactions.
- Train and mentor serving staff on menu knowledge, service techniques, upselling, and hospitality standards.
- Monitor table service speed and guest satisfaction, stepping in to assist when needed.
- Collaborate with management and kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service and communication between FOH and BOH.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and ensuring proper staffing levels.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, side work, and operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of serving experience in a full-service or upscale dining environment.
- Previous leadership or shift lead experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of customer service, food and beverage menus, and upselling techniques.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Must be able to lift trays, stand for long periods, and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling.
- Ability to train and coach team members effectively.
