GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a Safety Manager to lead our Grand Haven location with additional responsibilities overseeing safety at Holland Headquarters and Hart facilities.
What You'll Do
Incident Problem Solving Analysis and Communication - Responsible for injury and incident investigations, discovering root cause and developing risk mitigation strategies with continuous improvement of all safety, health and environmental programs and safety staff development.
Lead Program and Training Effectiveness - Evaluate the effectiveness and lead improvement of accident prevention programs, confined spaces, fall protection, blood borne pathogens, ergonomics, hearing conservation, personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments, safety job analysis, hot work permits, lock out/tag out, lab safety, and emergency preparedness.
Lead Plant Safety Committee and ERT Team - Responsible for leading the safety committee in raising safety awareness and employee participation through issue identification and prevention, including the safety audit process, safety walkthroughs and the closing of open issues. Coordinates Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities to ensure the ERT is prepared to respond to emergency situations through training, drills, and exercises.
Manage Plant Safety- Establishes GHSP plant safety guidelines and ensures all employees receive the proper training to comply with the safety guidelines.
Participate in Safety Assessments - Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment.

Requirements:What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering general or equivalent preferred
- 3-5 Experience in industrial safety, preferably in the automotive manufacturing environment.
- 1-3 Experience in Ergonomics, OSHA Requirements and Lean Manufacturing preferred.
