Job Description : My client, a leading heavy civil contractor in Stuart, FL, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing heavy civil projects , including roads, highways, bridges, and underground utilities. This role requires technical expertise, leadership, and a results-driven mindset to oversee projects from inception to successful completion.Key Responsibilities : Manage all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 to track milestones and manage timelines effectively.Prepare and manage project budgets, change orders, and forecasts using HCSS software for accurate cost control and analysis.Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, city agencies, and the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations.Oversee project procurement, including materials, equipment, and subcontractor selection, ensuring alignment with project specifications.Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and field staff, to achieve project goals.Monitor and enforce compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout project execution.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, fostering professional growth and development.Prepare detailed progress reports and present updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management , or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on municipal and DOT projects.Proficiency in Primavera P6 and HCSS HeavyBid / HeavyJob software.Demonstrated experience working on projects with municipalities, city agencies, and the Florida DOT.Strong knowledge of construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a commitment to safety and quality.Preferred Skills : Experience managing projects valued at $10M or more.Familiarity with design-build and public-private partnership (P3) delivery methods.Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes in Florida.Compensation and Benefits : Competitive salary based on experience.Performance-based bonuses.Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.Paid time off and holidays.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
