We are currently looking for a Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our practice in St Marks, Utah.
Position purpose
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Office Manager, the Medical Front Desk Coordinator will be responsible for the overall organization of the reception area of the practice as well as welcoming and greeting patients and visitors in person and over the phone. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years experience in a medical office environment. Experience in the field of Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine is a plus. The individual will have previous experience with Front Office procedures.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed below, may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Medical Front Desk Coordinator will work closely with other medical office personnel to:
- Answer incoming calls
- Greet patients and vendors
- Check patients in and out
- Take height and weight measurements
- Schedule test procedures such as MRIs
- Scan documents
- Manage the revenue cycle by collecting co-pays and past due balances
- Support the overall goals of the company.
- Perform other job related duties as requested or required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Experience working with an EMR or Centricity PM a plus
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellent computer skills
- Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Professional appearance and demeanor a plus

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, front office or scheduling experience preferred.
Requirements for Level I Status:
- Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision.
- Excess of 4 years experience if meeting only the basic requirements of the job with need for additional supervision.
Performance Requirements:
- Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
- Skill in operating office equipment
- Skill in handling paperwork/filing adequately.
- Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to learn/use other computer programs including Microsoft Excel, e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
- Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
