Construction Inspector (Full-time)

An award-winning firm, we have completed a multitude of projects that include civil engineering and surveying for site design, stormwater, sewer, water, and transportation infrastructure. We are currently recruiting to fill a full-time Construction Inspector position. Ideally, the candidate will be self-motivated and have strong team and communication skills.
The primary function of this position is to provide onsite construction observation for public and private infrastructure projects and document compliance with project plans, specifications, applicable codes, and regulations. Projects are typically located in southwest Washington and northern Oregon.
Required Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Valid driver’s license, with clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prefer minimum of 2 years of experience or equivalent construction industry experience.
- Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plan sketches, specifications, schedules and shop drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide accurate daily documentation of site conditions and work performed, including photos (labor, equipment, materials, quantities).
- Ability to measure, calculate and document installed material quantities daily and by specific bid item.
- Provide verbal and written interpretations of plans and specifications as needed.
- Identify potential contract changes and assist in preparing and reviewing contract change orders.
- Report delays, changes in understanding of scope, and any circumstances that may affect the project budget or schedule.
- Report and advise project manager of any work that should be corrected or rejected, uncovered for observation, or that requires special testing, inspection or approval.
- Perform final onsite inspection to document and prepare a final punchlist of items to be completed.
Wages:
$35 to $46/hour (depending on qualifications)
