Job Summary
The Accounting Intern will assist with entering accounting transactions in the ERP system according to generally accepted accounting principles. Assist the accounting team with month-end close activities and carrying out daily accounting tasks. This position works hand-in-hand with the accounting department and other departments within the company. Works under direct supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Record business transactions in NetSuite, OpenAir and / or QB.
Assist the accounting team with AR, AP, time, expenses, and month-end close activities.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Complies with accounting policies and procedures.
Perform cross-training of job functions with co-workers.
Comply with all company policies.
Assist with the overall quality control of the accounting system and ensures the integrity of system processing and accounting files.
Participate in required training.
General knowledge of accounting processes.
Intermediate knowledge or ability to learn computer equipment and software.
Proactively work to create positive and professional culture within GATE
Other duties as assigned
Experience & Education
High School Degree required / Must be enrolled in an Accounting Bachelor’s degree program or recently graduated.
Basic Computer Skills
Knowledge of accounting software preferably
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Knowledge of accounting methods and procedures
Demonstrate organizational skills.
Skill to formulate reports in Excel spreadsheets.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Skill in providing mathematical calculations for various reports.
Computer Software Preferred : NetSuite; Microsoft
Physical Requirements
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and / or physical
