Principle Duties And Responsibilities

Reports to Director of Laboratory Services & Senior Medical Technologist.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides laboratory services appropriate for the age of the patient, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Performs laboratory test procedures in all laboratory departments including hematology, coagulation, chemistry, microbiology, serology, urinalysis, and blood bank.
- Performs quality control procedures and maintains adequate quality control records.
- Performs instrument preventive maintenance procedures and performance checks in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and laboratory policy.
- Assists Director of Laboratory Services with performance improvement studies and special projects when requested.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical strength to perform the following lifting demands:
- Floor to waist – 40 pounds
- 14” to waist – 50 pounds
- Waist to shoulder – 30 pounds
- Shoulder to overhead – 10 pounds
- Carry 30 pounds for 30 feet
- May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry equipment, supplies, etc.
- Must be able to move intermittently, walking, standing, and bending, throughout

- Emotional – Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress associated with fast paced physical activity, demands of patients and their families, and maintaining an effective working relationship with peers, physicians, and other health care workers.
- Verbal – Ability to speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner. Ability to understand the meaning of words and ideasassociated with them.
- Motor Coordination – Ability to coordinate eyes and hands to fingers rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed; to skillfully manage multiple pieces of equipment, tubs, tourniquets, and needles.

Salary : $21 - $45
